PRS-300 PRS-300 black color? - Page 2

OK, it's not "bright pink". But it's still sufficiently different from the photos where the border looks rather "pale"

Yeah... photos certainly won't do the colors the best justice, but they're a good ballpark idea of what the devices look like. Obviously the best option is to see them in person.

Seems pretty clear what the colors are and what they look like when compared to each other. The 300 is obviously blue and pink, while the 600 is obviously black and red.

The only conclusion to some is the labling on actual boxes.
For example : the Navy blue colored 300 is labled as "Black" on the box.
And I think the Rose/Pink colored 300 is listed as "Red" on the actual packaging.

Anyway that's a great picture. I wonder why they didn't keep the red on the 300 in line with the 600. It's a great color, but I'm not so sure about rose/pink.

Yeah, I have never been a fan of the "Sony blue," and I wish that the 300 came in proper black, just like the 600. Not at all crazy about the pink either. I got the silver so I have no idea about the labeling for the other colors. Are you saying there is a label with the word "black" on the box, or are you assuming that 300BC stands for black because the 600BC is black? It sounds like you are saying there is the word "black" on the box, but I just want to make sure I am understanding you correctly.

If so, why in the world would Sony put "black" on the box, but "navy blue" (the actual color) on the website? Strange.

I just spoke with Sony, and they insist that the boxes are labeled correctly. Maybe there was a goof at the factory and the wrong labels ended up on the boxes?

Reports from many people say it's the label on the boxes. Maybe they had been earlier shipments and is now corrected.

No idea. I would stop by a store to see, but there aren't any close by. Of course, I was speaking to a Sony CSR, and since they aren't the voice of Sony unless it has been scripted, who knows what the correct answer is.
