Well the Mayan calendar ends in 2012 (December 23rd to be precise, so don't do your Christmas shopping early that year!).

Yes, that's the current popular end date. When that one passes there will be another.

Besides 10/10/10, I'm looking forward to November 11, 2011 or 11/11/11 and then 12/12/12. After that it will be a while before these kind of combinations come up, won't it?

and on a side note, I know EXACTLY where I was on 07/07/77. with my family on a Sailboat between the San Juan Islands and Victoria B.C. it was my Dad's birthday and I remember him commenting on always speculating when he was a little boy as to where he would be and what he would be doing on that date.

all in all, it probably was one of my top 10 days ever

My father tells me that my grandfather was quietly amused when he got to write the dates 10/10/10, 11/11/11 and 12/12/12 as an office boy.

That was 1910, etc, of course...

What? You mean we aren't on the metric system? No wonder things just don't measure up.

On a sadder note some poor Bolivian fellow went and high jacked a plane convinced that 090909 was 666 on it's head and that there would be a huge earthquake in Mexico City.

That's sweet. Making that kind of connection to one's father is always special.

and... on a side note

"Doing time for Uncle Sam in mid-CA" is open to a lot of interpretations. Care to elucidate?

Edit, found the I did it again! (and with a pshrynk this time!) thread, ah... Carmel, that pretty much eliminates the state and federal penitenturies in central California or Canada. So it must be DLI. (or that NASA facility)
