Which ones? I downloaded 'The Manxman' by Sir Hall Cane and it renders fine.

If anyone else is having trouble opening or viewing an epub in ZuluReader (either PC or Win Mobile) email me a link to the file and I'll tweak ZR's render engine so it displays correctly

Cheers,

Steve.

Not at this stage Gibbo, the next two platforms I will target are Google's Android and the iPhone.

Actually Gibbo, I did a bit of googling and I found this page (http://www.houseofdap.com/smartq-q7-mid.html) that shows the Q7 is available with Win CE which ZuluReader will run on. You may be able to re-flash the rom in your device with Win CE.

Hi Jon,

You can download the CAB install from the site and copy it to the device manually and install it that way.

Cheers,

Steve.

Tally my vote for Android. I'm currently on a WinMobile device, but as soon as Verizon Wireless releases a decent Android smartphone, I'll be jumping ship. I realistically expect that to be in a few months when my New Every 2 is up.

On a different note, I've not tried this Android book reader (since I don't have Android), but it sure does look pretty, if you're looking for ideas for asthetic enhancements: Aldiko.

And from a feature perspective, this full-featured WinMobile reader has always been the one I use the most: uBook. Its interface is rather clunky, however, it's tough to beat its powerful feature-set (again, if you're looking for ideas).

Cheers, Carl.

Thanks Carl, I'll check it out. Any feature in particular that you are interested in besides annotations?

Wish list:

1. Annotations.
2. HTML support (including CSS)
3. Synchronize e-books with calibre desktop, so we can transfer e-books directly to the device using calibre.
4. Some kind of way to access the library using just icons, so as to fit more on a screen (and perhaps organize the icons by author/genre).
5. An Android platform version (I'm not using it yet, but will in a while).
6. Dictionary support (this would be a real low priority for me - frankly, probably not something I'd really use myself).

With #1 and #2 done, I would be inclined to use ZuluReader exclusively, as I would no longer need ubook.

These are the specifics I can think of - the rest of it would be just "prettying" things up and asthetics. But you know the way mission creep works - the more one uses a reader, the more one starts to think of for improvements.

HI Carl,

Annotations are well under way and will be in the next update. Do you have a copy of an html(with css) ebook you can email me for testing (stevedales@gmail.com).

I am making changes to the library screen so that you can view more than one cover at a time and so that you can list them by genre, author etc. When done you will swipe vertically to see the next book/s and horizontally to go to the next genre or author.

I will look into syncing with calibre also.

ZR already has dictionary support, you can download the Dictionary.zip file from the website, just copy it as is into /ZuluLibrary/Dictionary/ on your device. To look up a word just press and hold on a word to bring up the lookup panel then tap the question mark icon.

Cheers,

Steve.

Steve - html file shipped. Looking forward to seeing the annotations, and your new library screen.

Cheers, Carl.

Hi Carl,

Annotations update (0.9.1.4) is on the site for download

That html book is an epub as far as I can tell. The reason ZR wouldn't open it is that in the opf file the meatadata tag is "<opf:metadata......." which I have never seen before. I have modified ZR to handle this and the book opens in ZR fine now.

I have put a new version in CAB file format on the site with the fix. Also in this version is landscape mode support and square screen support.

Cheers,

Steve.
