I think the 100 txt books were taken from the gutenberg project (at least the ones I saw were). I didn't check out the other 200 which were in a different format....

unfortunately, I also saw about a 2 second delay on turning pages of the manual as someone else complained

I wonder if there is a setting in the options that will allow you to designate how long it takes before your unit slips into sleep mode. Let's say 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes etc...

In this way, slow readers can set it to 2 minutes, average readers can set it to 30sec to a minute, fast readers can set it 10-30 seconds, and the unit will still change screens as fast as if you click-click-click the pages. Does this even sound feasible?

But, but being in active-mode longer than normal, I am certain that the page count will be reduced a bit, but it shouldn't be too terribly bad.

Robert. Is this something that can be implemented in the firmware, or is there a setting for it somewhere?

slow response possibility

Could the slow response be related to the people who have not had a chance to charge, and cycle, the battery several times. Remember, as all of you have been stating, you need to charge it for 12 hours, then cycle the charging several times before the batter monitor catches up. Could this be related to the sluggish response?

Highly unlikely. It's almost without question due to the device "going to sleep" after a few seconds of inactivity.
