About the Ragoon
The Ragoon are an interplanetary confederation/empire that dominates much of the galactic arm that the Earth system is a part of. They have a certain amount of representational democracy, although not on the same level as the western democracies of Earth. Their planets number in the hundreds of thousands and the total population is, well...there are a lot of them. So many, that it's easy for a tiny tiny fraction of their population to keep track of a measly six billion people on Earth. How do they do it? Nanocameras on Earth that are the size of a grain of dust, and Ragoon people who are paid to have these surveillance cameras send video to their computers that is incorporated into their screen savers. This is a random process. As an Earthling, you may be entertaining, at any time, any member of the Ragoon species. The Ragoon are hermaphrodite, and unfortunately they are extremely prejudiced against sentient species that aren't. Their spiritual leaders have designated such species as sub-Ragoon, and there is a debate among the Ragoon about whether such species have souls. Whenever the Ragoon encounter sentient species that have more that one gender they insist that the local authorities enact laws enslaving the weaker gender to the will of the stronger gender. The Ragoon choose which is the weaker and stronger genders, usually based on local tradition. Members of the stronger gender can also become slaves (lifetime prisoners) but only to the Ragoon. Luckily for their alien subjects, the Ragoon are also pathologically horrified at the idea of prostitution and sexual violence including sexual coercion, even by one’s owner. Unluckily, they also frown on members of the slave gender not submitting to the will of the free gender. The slavery that is imposed by the Ragoon is similar to that of the Roman Empire. Slaves can aspire to high office, they just have to continue to be slaves. The woman who is presently the President of the United States is in such a position. So is the woman who is Secretary General of the United Nations. The relationship of the Ragoon to their alien subjects is similar to the Dutch relationship to the people of the Spice Islands in the 1600’s. Very favorable if you happen to be Dutch. Not so favorable if you were born in the Spice Islands. The Ragoon economic system is a mixture of socialism and capitalism. The generous socialist aspect of their society is limited to members of the Ragoon. The Ragoon have companies that control different worlds. These companies are interested in harvesting the raw materials of giant planets. By Ragoon law, they have to pay for their acquisitions, so they pay into a general fund that is controlled by the United Nations. They pay for their acquisitions by selling low grade (from their point of view) technology to humans. |

Good morning. Just got up. If I remember right, you go to the forums, chose the right format (like epub) and then do an attachment. Is that right? That's what I did three times. epub, prc, lrf Did not get any error message

Where is the book? Okay, I can't find it either. Here it is at my own website;
http://sites.google.com/site/stansfr...s-movie-star-1 Here it is at scribd. http://www.scribd.com/doc/26919820/T...e-s-Movie-Star I plan to combine it with Sam's Winnings and put it up at smashwords and feedbooks. (if they allow that) |

Okay, new rule. No trying to upload after midnight, and first read the guidelines again. It's available here now.

Two separate books
Surviving the Fog is a book about a group of teenaged campers stranded in the Sierra Nevada mountains. No relation to Tales of the Ragoon.
Sam's Winnings is the first published story in TR. Kate's Movies Star is the second published story. I'm thinking about working on Almost Like a Dad which would be the third story in TR. There is a very short story called The Imposition which is actually the first story of TR. It is basically a speech by the Secretary General of the United Nations, giving the world a heads up about the type of rules that the Ragoon intend to impose on the world. Maybe, I'll just upload The Imposition here. |

Sam's Winnings is not posted here, because I decided to try and sell it for $1. So it is at smashwords, amazon and barnes & nobels. Not that anyone is buying it. I plan to bundle SW and KMS and sell that bundle for $1.50 at smashwords, amazon, etc. Together the book would be about 71K words. Almost like a Day would put TR over 100000k words.
That's if I concentrate on Almost Like a Dad and don't start something else like TR-Hero or completely move away from TR for a while and work on MacKenzie's Rock. |
