dura try converting to ePub just for the heck of it and see what you think. That way you'll know what you like or not.

BTW, note that there are very large number of nicely-formatted LRF and ePub books that you can download from this site completely free of charge. Pretty much all of the "classics", and much more besides.

I prefer LRF myself because I don't like the numbers in the right margin, which is what you get with ePub. That and the lack of full justification.

I don't really like the page numbers in the right hand side of ePub files, but I've learned to live with them. Also, in most instances, I'd prefer fully justification as well. That being said, I'm sticking with ePub--mostly because with Calibre I can embed my own fonts easily--and I find I really like the "Fontin" font. You can embed fonts in LRF's with BookDesigner, but this really slows down page turns on my 505. This could work a lot better on the 600 though.

I have a similar question to the original poster. Most of my texts are saved in RTF format, for ease of correction in a word processor. Does anyone know how the PRS-300 handles RTF, specifically:

1) I know the PRS-300 has three text size settings. Are these fixed for all texts or does the font size saved in the document file influence the size of the three settings?

2) Does the margin setting in the RTF influence the margin on the reader?

3) Is formatting such as bold and italic in the RTF reproduced in the reader?

Any light that anyone can shed on these issues would be appreciated.

Being the OP it's obvious I'm very new at this subject, but what strikes me when I jump from book to book in my reader (PDF, HTML, LIT converted to .RLF) the size of the letters differ, when keeping the size on one value, so I guess the answer to 1) is, yes the Source-size does matter.

I kind of have the same question too. maybe we should create a thread just for the question? So more people see it?

OK, started a new thread about the PRS-300. Thanks to dura for answering the question about the text size.
