I think this is a known issue. You have to uninstall and delete the Kinoma folders... I think it is... Yea... see here:

Yes.

You tag them with a series name and then input the book number so it'll show up in series order. Of course you don't have to use it just for series, you can do genre's, author name, etc. instead.

I shall have to try this at some point. I finally got the old version to work so my books are all back where they should be. I've gotten a new computer after I got my reader so I hadn't gotten around to moving my library X.x

Thanks for all the replies guys!

I've gone to uploading books one at a time, which seems to work for most. It still hangs on some specific books

Is Calibre worth a go?

I confess that I've never installed Sony library. I don't need it.
Calibre has a lot more features.
The only two Sony's features missing in Calibre are:
- book prepagination - minor issue
- Sony ebook store (I don't buy DRM'd lrx)

How can Calibre help me?

I just got my 505 and have seen threads where others just rave about Calibre. So what is it and what can it do for me? Is it a replacement program for the Sony elibrary software? I too had issue running the version 3 and had to uninstall it and reinstall version 2.5.

- First of all it's free!
- It does library management + syncs with your device
- It offers lots of format conversions - almost from and to any ebook format available
- It has integrated reader for most formats
- It downloads news feeds to your reader.
- It's maintained by Kovid Goyal's team which is present here everyday and kindly offers support and implements any logical suggestion...
- ...

Have a look: here, here and here.

Same for me: Vista Business. Crashes with the new (Sony 300 and 600) and the old (Sony 505 and 700) readers when drag-and-dropping or syncing.
Sony suggests to deinstall software and driver - not working.
Others suggest checking Java - no difference.
Again, others suggest checking defective PDFs - no difference for me as well...

Hi e-bibliophiles.... with yet another snag to report. I did what pilotbob suggested, and it seemed to fix the problems I had with collections and sync. Nevertheless, today, after synching my newspaper, I found that, when I attempted to open it, i got an invalid page message! ...I tried to go back, and the reader resetted.... after almost 40 minutes it came back from... the processing grave, and lo and behold! collections and bookmarks gone!! has anyone had this same bug? any advice?

thanks

My problem is that I use Adobe Digital Editions more then sony ebook library, but now when I download from books on board they come up on my sony e-book library and not my Adobe Digital Edition, this started after I updated sony ebook. It is like my sony e-book library has been set as my deflaut e-book library and I do not know haw to change it.

You probably just need to re-associate the file extensions with ADE rather than the Sony library. I am pretty sure re-running the ADE install will take care of this.

So if I want to purchase books from Sony, I'll need some working version of the ebook library to do so, correct?

I am giving serious thought to loading my books into Calibre to check it out. I did install the program, but really need to load my books and play around.

Yes, that is correct... sadly Sony doesn't just have a Web site based estore... I'm not sure why.
