My reading device - a Sony - isn't connected - so Shortcovers doesn't meet my needs.

Are we going to remove DRM from our applications? We know users want DRM free reading and we are talking to publishers about opportunities to remove DRM, and all our DRM technologies are optional on a per-book basis, so as soon as publishers are comfortable delivering digital book content DRM free, we are ready to flip that switch.
While it is nice to be able to get a prompt reply here, in a community forum, the topic here has not been addressed at all. The thread title was a sarcastic remark on my part - undownloadble ebook being the ultimate DRM. Shortcovers offers ebook in ePub format, even offer ePUb conversion program to publishers. My interest is to be able to download the ebook (to my PC, Laptop, Netbook, iPhone, Smartphone), not whether the ebook is DRM or DRM free. ADE on my laptop solves this for me.
When I open Shortcovers eBook using my internet browser, i see no DRM there. But what I open is not an ePub ebook, but a collection of htmls. When I open shortcovers ebook with m iPhone app, the same thing happens. No ePub, only collection of chapters.
When I download ebook with my stanza for iPhone app, I download ePub ebook. I can then turn off my wifi connection to conserve battery power, and then start reading.
So, the undownloadable issue has not been addressed.

Hi thianliongpatpoh,
On the 'I can't download my content to my iphone' issue, the iPhone application actually does download the content and cache it offline, but it does a very bad job of telling you what is downloaded and what isn't. Basically, it doesn't work.

We have an app sitting with Apple right now that adds an explicit download feature and working offline reading. Hopefully they will approve it soon and then you can download and read offline.

It still doesn't give you the ePub file (DRMd or not), but you can read offline.

As promised, we are now making ePubs available for some of our titles. A full press release, blog post, etc, etc will go out in the next day or so, but I thought I'd let everyone here at MobileRead know as soon as we had something available.

Here's Angels and Demons:
http://www.shortcovers.com/mixes/Ang...xKg/page1.html

Here's The Audacity Of Hope:
http://www.shortcovers.com/mixes/The..._Vw/page1.html

And our loading process is off and running.

We'd love any early feedback too!
