The status bar on the Opus can be switched off, but you don't "gain" any extra text by doing so.
Measuring it, the screen of the Opus is 101mm high, and the status bar is 3.5mm, so that corresponds to: 3.5/101 x 800 = 28 pixels for the status bar. So I reckon that considering the "usable" screen area to be 600x770 pixels would be OK. |

But in PDF mode the whole screen becomes usable, doesn't it?

I've just tried a PDF and you're right, yes. Switching off the status bar makes a PDF expand to fill the entire screen.
