A while back I tried to sync my book library between my macbook and my windows pc.
The problem I went into were different encodings of the file system directory names when there were special characters (umlauts) in the book titles... not sure if that would be still a problem... |

Recent version of calibre convert all filenames to ASCII to avoid just these sorts of problems.
