Thank you for the cautionary tale, IG.

If the one strike and you're out rule wasn't expressed in the warranty, it seems there might be grounds for a class-action lawsuit.

I agree. Anyone out there with appropriate legal expertise? Perhaps we could at least force Sony to be explicit about this limitation.

I was indignant at first and protested but on careful reading it was in the fine print. Craftily buried, but it was there.

It would be great if Sony were somehow forced to be more up front with that information; that's why I posted it here. I'm sure the people who sell the warranty have no idea of these kind of limitations.

Elfwreck, it sounds like you're fortunate in contrast to a few complaints I read about broken substrates and Sony refusing to cover them.
