There have been some people on here call it Lime Green, but the M-Edge website refers to it as Jade Green. Once you get it I'd appreciate it if you'd do a follow up post letting us know what it really looks like. While I have the marbled red one, I'm certainly not above buying a second cover just for another look.

The Advantage of the armor case is that it zips up and keeps it well protected . I place my hand through the back of handle and or my finger through the handle and use thumb to turn pages.
Part of the reason I bought the zipped armor case is lint, sand, dirt, coins and stuff that are floating around in pockets/backpack, or at beach/parks, this way I keep all stuff out of the 505. I like the extra compartments of the m-edge and the leather and all, so you have to decide for yourself which way to go. 29 dollars for M-edge leather case or 35 dollars for zipped armor hard case (nothing can enter through the headphone jack, and other openings on side and bottom of 505 to mess it up or fluids getting into it with the armor case when it's zipped and in pocket or backpack or purse if you are a woman). At least that's my reasoning. Not sure if fluids can enter through the zipper, but it offers more fluid/lint/dust/sand protection than the m-edge in comparing the 2 of them. although its easy to make the 700 water PROOF with a ziplock baggie with either case. I've don't that when I went to the beach, just put it in a ziplock, then put it in my medge case. in fact that is what ill be doing fridya asuming the weather holds. (right now small chance of T storms, but it was like that the last 2 times I went to the beach too) if there is one thing I agree on though is that the stock case is crap, the only thing it protects against is scratches, no shock protection at all, the medge and the book armor are both pretty shock proof. |

The M-edge looks a lot nicer than the armor case cover. And if I was gonna buy one , it would keep the 505/700 safer from falls and other mis-haps than the orginal case that comes with the ereader.
If you keep the 505 in home on table and pick it up to read, than M-edge is the beautiful way to go. If I want to put my 505 in cargo pants/backback/ leave it in car, or take it out and about, the armor case is the only way I go. I did use the orginal cover and place it in zip-locked baggie , but realized it just is not as protected , since this thread is about dropped and broken 700. I know I would want to know all the options in buying a case for these fragile glass screens , and Andybaby and me both have come up as others have with better cases than stock one. Since the M-edge cover has openings on bottom/sides/and top of reader, just be aware that stuff can come into the ereader through those openings. If you gonna get the m-edge I don't know if a ziplock baggie would cover it and fit in cargo pants. I know the armor can fit in my cargo pants, I think the m-edge is too big to fit in my cargo pants from the pictures of it, I'll let others say if they can put it in cargo pants or not. If the m-edge had a zipper that closed it , then you could have beauty and safeness! ![]() The pro's of the armor case: The zipper and the hard cover and small and very light weight form factor is what convinced me to Armor IT! ![]() Last edited by richman; 07-23-2009 at 02:16 PM. |

but as for the ziploc, you zip it into a naked reader, than you put it in the case. I ago around NYC all the time with my reader in my back pocket in my medge. in my backpack. ziplocks are only for the beach. I don't even do that if I think its gonna rain. |

With the M-Edge, I can put my 700 in the side pocket of my cargo shorts, but not the usual front or back pockets.

Sure, I'll do that, with the PRS in it and everything. Once they both arrive, that is; international posting is always slower outside of Christmas time, oddly enough.
