Me too. I'd've bought the less expensive/being discontinued version if I'd known this.

When I enquired they said they were designing a light just for the 505 and it would be out at the end of summer. They told me the kindle one was to big and I still think is what they are up to. Maybe they will wait to see how many jackets they sell to justify the lights. Who knows but I have not given up hope yet.

Does anyone know of a booklight from a European source that could work? I don't need to carry it around with the Reader, but something small and lightweight would be nice.

When I emailed them last week about it they said it was still a 'potential future product' but they had no further information about it so I would pretty much rule out summer 09!

so maybe they started then had a hold up. Wont hold my breath but do wish they had the option on the width of the new covers for those that dont want a book light. Then it would fit in the book armur.

The light that's on sale is for the Kindle 2. M-Edge has said that it's too long for the PRS-505 cover.

Right now, they are offering two version of their lights: one for the K2 and DX, one for the K1.

According to the dimensions on their site, the light for the K1 is 1/2 inch shorter (7.0 inches as opposed to 7.5 inches). Likewise, the K1 Executive cover is 7.8 inches tall and the K2 Executive cover is 8.25 inches. So it seems like they have designed the light so that the cover to be 3/4 inch longer than the light to fit properly.

Given they list their Sony cover as being 7.0 inches tall, it seems like both lights would be too long.

But this is all guessing on my part

well I am not going to wait anymore for it to come out. Someone on another post mentioned they had bought a mighty bright travelflex led light and it looks awesome from the pictures they posted. I am going to order one tomorrow

Ok, am I missing something here? I just looked at the pictures on Amazon...the only part that is too long is the long white plastic piece that is supposed to slip down into the case, right?

Shoot. That's nothing a sawzall or dremmel tool can't fix, folks!! Seems like you'd just have to trim that down and sand/smooth the edge.

I have an M-Edge coming in Fuschia on Friday, but I already have a mighty brite Xtra Flex2 That I just love. I am going to see if that will work. Otherwise, I wouldn't let that extra plastic worry me AT ALL.

It's the flexible arm that's a bit too long. It folds down to lie besied the reader, so the lamp would pop out a bit at the bottom. Not so great, and I don't think I wanna fix it your way

I have been using the Energizer Reading Light and was very happy with it. Recently, I just got the M Edge Jacket for PRS505.

Unfortunately they dun seemed to work well with each other as the Energizer light is too long for the jacket. So I have to actually bend the light's body in order to keep the light in the spine of the jacket when not in use ! But I managed to get by

Some photos here

Looking forward to an actual version of M Edge light for Sony PRS505

Ahhhh. Thanks for clarifying. Nah, not a DIY fix for that, lol.
