I only ever by the good stuff, usually the walkman series which I have never had a bad example of, in fact every single walkman I own from my first minidisc to the super thin CD player and NWA-3000 still work perfectly and only the NWA-3000 shows a great deal of wear but that's out of lots of use. I've yet to have a proper hardware fault in something sony just lots of software problems.
