Yes. The Kindle reads DRM-free (unsecured) MOBI (also often called PRC) ebooks, and you can often find ebooks in the MOBI format but if not Calibre can convert them to MOBI for you.

Just pay return shipping. Play with it, download books, read, then decide. ![]() |

Kindle is good for novices. Sony is good for people who know their way around and can hack and add home brew apps, as I was told

The Sony is great even without any hacks. I haven't had to do anything to mine.

After wallowing in my indecisiveness for days, I finally decided to take the plunge and order the Kindle 2 since I knew I could return it if I didn't like it.
Well it arrived yesterday and I am in LOVE. ![]() Thanks again for all the help and input. |

505 for me too!
I bought 2 new 505's for the same price it would have cost me to get ONE kindle 2. 200 and 150 .... borders and sony deal. For news I use calibre for reading daily news sites on my prs. It creates table of contents so just click on news stories I'm interested in table of contents and it takes me to that page. I have time mag, wastington post, and others on it and calibre includes 120 news sites from USA and links for other languages. You can grow with the sony with sd slots and memory stick, so you can put different book collections on each stick/sd card and if you want medical stuff , just drop medical sd card in with all your stuff on it. I would rather have 2 505's compared to one kindle 2. But that's me. Since I load the latest news to prs in morning , calibre fetches in on daily schedule for me, and when I plug the prs in, it downloads it automatically in a few seconds and I'm good to go. p.s. good luck with your kindle 2 , I'm sure you will have fun with it and probably use whispernet more than I would.
