Ah, but those extras do improve the content, for me. I'm not into the full multimedia exprience as such, though I'd love to try one out on my X50v.
It really is a case of personal interest, I guess. Craig. |

Some ebooks already have content other than text. Some of the star trek ebooks I've read have the cover art (rendered badly, natch) and the Neal Stephenson ebook versions of The Baroque Cycle: Quicksilver, The Confusion and The System of the World all had family trees and maps etc because they were in the hardbacks and paperback versions, these were large pictures that you had to drag around to see but very easy to read and better rendered than the star trek covers.
Extra content such as illustrations are probably uneccessary but the maps and diagrams and family trees were definately needed for The Baroque cycle. |

Given the sad state of proof-reading and volume of OCR errors I've seen in the ebooks I've purchased, the last thing some publishers need is more distractions from getting the bleedin' text right in the first place.
