I just went and checked with the Bookeen web site to see if there were any changes with the new shipment of Gen3's. I does look like they no longer have the out-of-stock message on their web pages. However, I went to their specifications (in the store click on the product and then click on specifications).
At least in the English version of the web site it says the flash memory is 64MB ![]() |

I sent mine off on the 27th. Funnily enough, as soon as I posted here I got an email saying they'd got it. Bit of a sphincter loosening moment when they wanted to charge me for the repair, but they realised the mistake straight away and agreed to do it under warranty.

I'm currently being ignored by Bookeen after receiving my Cybook last week. The device freezes at least once a day, sometimes twice. They answered my first email promptly. They've ignored my other emails where I request a refund, six in total (seven if you count the fact that I sent the same email to both their contact and support email). This is the worst costumer service experience I've ever had, and I feel like I've lost $350.

Which firmware version do you have? Maybe you could downgrade to or reload version 796 which is available on Bookeen's site and which usually runs stable.

796 won't work on the current 400MHz versions of the Gen3, unfortunately. It only works on the older 200MHz models.

Well there's a surprise, my Cybook came back repaired. It would have been nice for Bookeen to let me know it was on the way because I wasn't at home when it arrived, but that falls under their usual troubles with being able to use email.
It's been upgraded to build 820, but not the new firmware ![]() Anyone know what the difference between that and 798 is? |
