Still no new books and now well past the early deadline.

Not that it matters - has anyone actually received the extra 5% lately? I haven't since they were taken over by BN (and the times I did buy in time were other weeks they could not get the books on line until very, very late monday evening/Tues morning).

A lot of times, the extra % off only applied if you purchased the books in advance. What's that all about?!? When I make a purchase, I want to download it when I buy it.

As I said before, I am very frustrated with Fictionwise and have already started making purchases from another ebook retailer.

This is the worst I've seen it. No new releases this week, apparently. And even if they do get them posted today, it's too late for the extra 5% off--if people have been getting it! This is frustrating, because there are a couple of books that were released yesterday that I've been eagerly anticipating, but now I might have to take my hard-earned dollars over to BoB instead because I'm beginning to doubt that Fictionwise is going to get them! I've always been a big FW supporter, and it's frustrating to have this going on.

Books are finally on the site now.
I hope this weeks events don't become a regular occurrence.

Go to Diesel ebooks. They don't require you to buy a membership and they still give you payback dollars. Their prices are better the BoB, too. I'll be watching to see if Fictionwise turns around because they do have better prices and good Micropay rebates, but until things get better, I'm taking my fairly hefty book budget to Diesel.

If I weren't a Buywise club member (which I basically got for nothing last year when they offered a one-year membership with 100% Micropay), you'd be right--Diesel would have the better prices. But with the membership plus the Micropay rebate, it's cheaper for me at FW.

It is. I am a Buywise member, too. I would much prefer to purchase from Fictionwise for that reason, but their recent problems are prohibitive. Diesel prices are close enough to Fictionwise to make it an easy decision for me to buy from them. If/when Fictionwise starts working the way it used to, I will probably go back to making my purchases there. The fact of the matter is, the few dollars difference just isn't worth all the hassles inherent with the new way Fictionwise is currently working.

I just noticed that Fictionwise did get in Troublesome Minds but only in eReader format and not Mobipocket and I know it's in Mobipocket format as Mobipocket.com has it. So it's not an Overdrive issue. Why is Fictionwise falling apart?

They've been doing this a lot, too! Coming out with books in Fictionwise's eReader format first when they are offering additional percentages off and later releasing them in additional formats without the additional savings. It actually started before the merger with Barnes and Noble. Fictionwise has always been a great company and I am hoping that they can turn things around.
