Thanks rfog, I didn't know of that trick and it's very easy to do. I will give it a try.

I think I still need something with services in Europe. Anyway, I cannot book DX from Ireland now.

I purchased one yesterday whit no trouble. I put the address MyUS gave me (as I did with my K2) and when they receive it in their facilty they will send to me via DHL...

MyUS.com is a service that for a little fee (most cheaper is 10$ forever) they give you a valid USA address and when they receive the goods on that "fake address" they send you to the address you've selected. In case of my K2 package, it were only 2 hours in their facilty. It took 5 days to be sent via USPS from Amazon to MyUS and 2 days from MyUS to my home at Spain. Of course, I had to pay more than 80 euro in douane...

I've purchased muy DX with "one day", then it will be only 3 or 4 days in transit from USA to Spain.

No, exactly. With MyUS cuote, 438.8 euro at my home door. Well, I purchased K2 with the standard cover.

However I estimate DX will cost me about 600 euro (whit standard cover).

A cover for a device like this is a must have. Sometimes for 20 or 30 bucks more you will save the life of your device.

Definitely buy a cover for it - it's pretty much essential. The "flip cover" seems to be the most popular one; it works very well.

I mean DX. 600EU. Do you need to pay the importing VAT? 20%

Here is 16%.

Form my Kindle 2:

7.37 € for MyUS first use.
298.14 € for the Amazon shop (K2 and Cover) Free with supersaving.
47.20 € for DHL (paid via MyUS).
86.09€ for Douane toll (45.69€ VAT and 40.04€ for import rights).

Total: 438.80

Doing a simple calcutation I estimate about 600€ the cost of the DX.

In both cases, the cover I've purchased is the "Amazon Kindle Leather Cover" for respectively each device.

Hmm... Sounds like you're going to have to think about this, like the others in the US Is expandable memory, Wacom stylus, folder organization and open software (and possibly the slightly larger screen) worth the extra 150EU to you?

Yes!!!!!!! exactly and definitely I have made my decision to choose DR now. Sorry for my hesitation, hehe....... I am not in US and I want a full service in Europe. More importantly, it is mostly academic paper I will read with the coming reader instead of downloading books or newspapers from Amazon. I consider I prefer reading professional materials with a professional reader. Just like the mobile phone with camera nowadays, if you want some professional photos, will you use your mobile phone or a SLR Digital Cameras?

Therefore, I think 150EU more is worth. Just I find I need to buy a cover, a advanced stylus, a SD card and even a Battery charger or a mobile battery pack. O.....!!!!! My money!!!!!!!

And I think you can "live with" a 9.7'' screen, especially if you value paying much less for the DX. I find the Wacom stylus, expandable memory and folder organization invaluable, so the DX is not an option for me.

Your only reasons to hold off a purchase, IMHO, are:
1. iRex may drop its price.
2. Plastic logic might release a price lower than the DR.
3. Sony might announce a reader (possibly the same 9.7'' as the DX) with PDF support and memory expansion for much less than the DX.
4. You want to wait for the colour (color to Americans) eink reader by iRex to be released in 2011

and 5. You want a movie in a piece of paper long long later

The PL has invested so much money, hehe, so I guess the price is high.

Hi, rfog. I think the amazon starts to ship their orders from today. How about give us a detail reviewer after you receive yours? I mean, in your free time.... Thanks.
