I ordered before the press conference was even over and it says: Shipping estimate: June 15, 2009 .. Huh? Is this because I ordered with the cheapo shipping?

I have Amazon Prime and I ordered on the first day of the announcement. The ship date I got was June 12. This discussion makes me wonder why I'm not getting it on June 11.

So, does anyone know if the DX uses a screen with a plastic substrate rather than a glass one? Harry has been saying [that PVI has been saying that] those won't be available until the end of this year.

It's got to be a glass screen, Bob. The flexible screens simply don't exist yet. It's not me saying that the flexible screen won't be available until the end of the year, but PVI, the manufacturer.

so it really will be a beta device for those who buy the first release if it comes with glass...I guess Amazon figures they will just replace the broken screens that make it until fall/winter if that is really a true date.

I assume it has to be glass. The plastic ones aren't being made yet.
