When thinking of cars, DX is usually the lower version and LX is the Luxury version so maybe it indicates that there will be a luxury version in the future.

The DX stands for "ducks".

Amazon realized that Daffy4u was posting negative remarks at Mobileread because of some bad decisions on Amazon's part (the kindlefix fiasco, censoring book listings, editing reviews, etc.) So they are calling their new product KindleDX in an effort to placate Daffy.

That's my theory anyway.

It's either that or they were going to call it KindleXL, but Mr. Bezos said "No, that reminds me of underwear."

10:07AM Here's our predictions besides the Kindle DX (the big daddy we saw yesterday). Tiny Kindle (about the size of a Tic-Tac box), Kindle Lady (it's pink), and a very special Terminator Salvation Kindle.
I want that last one!

Well, on SLR cameras, the DX sized sensor is the smaller one. Perhaps all of the roumors have been wrong and they are going to announce a tiny Kindle.
