Well put. That's exactly the dilemma that Palm forces onto prospective customers. I got tired of waiting and went for an iPAQ.

Palm might be up to the m500 by now. Not the m505 or m515, just the m500. And they'd be telling us it has all that we could ever want and only "power users" (a "small segment" of the population) would ask for more.

I give Tapwave credit for trying something different, too. I feel like if they'd gone with their featureset, but marketed away from the gamer market but to the business person (who might like a game session or 3) they might've bitten into that more lucrative market. As it was, young people chose the other gamer devices at lower price points and the people with money to spend on a PDA chose more businessy PDA's.

It'd be great to get those former Tapwave developers working again on Palm products. Perhaps they'd bring that necessary shot of enthusiasm and vigor to the Palm PDA world. I don't carry much faith in the LG licensee. They'd have to do a lot to get me to believe that they are here for the long-term and not just the short "smartphone" dollar.

Already considering a second Z2 for when my current one goes south.
