That's a very interesting setup, nkongur. How are you post processing the captures?

i download the images from camera via usb cable to my laptop and initilaze the fine reader program. then i import all the images using finereader ocr engine. i use two lamps as seen in the photo . they are power saving lamps 20 watt but equivalent to 100 watt normal lamp each. i adjust the iso level 400 and black and white photo from the settings. color can be different settings according to needs. you shouldnt use flashligt because it reflects from the glass over the camera.so iso and light are important. as for the glass on the table, the wider is the better. so you can scan larger books. there is a small thing should be take into consideration, no matter what i did i couldnt prevent te reflection at the edges of the glass, so glass size must be wider than the page size. may be it is because of the glass quality. mine is just ordinary window glass.
in order to adjust the shooting area ,my visor is adjustable to different angles, you can use just a small piece of mirror to see where you are shooting Last edited by nkongur; 06-25-2009 at 04:38 AM. |

You could also try connecting your camera to TV if possible. That helps a lot.
