For those of you who've printed cards describing your e-reader, what do your cards say? The cards sound like a great idea, and I'd be interested in reading yours rather than starting from scratch and "reinventing the wheel." Thanks.

I say find a case for it and take it with you! I have mine in a nice padded, zippered case and I just toss it in my purse so it's always there. I break it out at red lights and traffic jams... You just never know when the opportunity will arise, and it's so light, it doesn't weigh down your purse.

Same here. The only place anyone has EVER asked me about my reader was my doctor at her office. Comes in real handy there though since most of your time is spent sitting and WAITING.

Strangely, I've NEVER seen anybody else in my day to day travels with ANY e-ink reader. And I don't live in some tiny backwater town either. Very strange.

I actually got the idea from bbusybookworm. Take a look at this thread to see what he did.

I use mini moo cards so space is limited. I list addresses for MobileRead, the wiki, SonyStyle. com (where I bought my Reader), Sony's bookstore, Fictionwise (as an example of an ebook store), and manybooks.net (as an example of a free ebook site). I tell them to start with the first two links (MR and wiki) to see all of the possible options. Although I list Sony on the card, I'm not Sony-centric when talking to people. Most people walk up and ask if my Reader is one of those Amazon things, so I actually find myself talking about the Kindle more often than not. I typically ask what kind of books and how much the person reads and point out that it's important to browse ebook stores and free download sites to see if there's enough content to warrant a purchase.

I can't see how asking someone would be intrinsically impolite. Or am I missing something?

I've not had anyone ask me about mine for a few weeks.

I did hear 2 ladies behind me at the train station talking about the "electronic book that guy has" which I assume referred to me. But we were in the middle of a crush to get up the stairs at the time. Otherwise I would have stopped and offered them a closer look.

@revfish - so have you tattooed the image of a Sony Reader or it's logo on anyone yet? I know there are people with Windows logos, Apple Logos (although they are all being sued), Zune logos, etc.

In the waiting room yesterday before my surgery, a nice woman asked me about mine. I explained it was a Sony, that she could pick one up at Target, and gave her MR's website info. Then they called me for my surgery before I could give her my nickname and stuff. Tim was going to finish the conversation for me after he went back out to wait, but she had already been called and he never saw her again. So if you see someone new from the Birmingham area, please ask if she is the woman I was chatting with and PM me with her nickname. THANKS!

Yeah.....I got the lightwedge so that limits me as far as cases, but I was reading the accessory form about this thing called the Book Armour...that is a case and you'd stick the e-reader PLUS the leather cover inside that. I am thinking of getting that. I'll have to see though.

I was tempted to take my e-reader to the dog park yesterday, but I thought "nah probably not a good idea lol)

I've had all sorts ask me about my Reader. Even the people who don't read at all seem to be curious and fascinated about it. A guy I work with who has likely never willingly picked up a book in his life told me, and I quote, "That is some cool s**t". I found that to be pretty ironic.

I also know a lot of people who work at the airport as part of the crew that goes onto the planes after they land, restocking and cleaning. These are the folk who find all the many things the passengers leave behind. Oddly enough, since I've had my Reader, I get given tons of paper books that they find on board. I'm not sure why they have only started doing this since I've got my ebook, because they've always known I was a reader. Was a common joke for people to call me "Readie McReader" because I always had a book with me -- but they never gave me books back THEN. Only now that I carry a fake book around lol. Go figure.

Oh and if anyone is curious, they haven't yet found an ebook reader of any sort. I have a standing offer to buy any they find that are left unclaimed ;-)

Well after reading this thread, I think I'm going to start carrying my ereader with me wherever I go....not in my purse, just tuck it in my arm and whip it out whenever I have a free moment...maybe go hang out at Borders and casually enjoy my reader while sipping a mocha!! I also have yet to see someone with an ereader. Although my neighbor just got a Kindle.

Kelly--I carry my reader with light wedge in my purse everywhere. I do have it in a separate compartment inside the purse though (big purse). Haven't had any problems yet (knock on wood)! I do often get my reader out at Barnes and Noble or Borders. My husband and I love going to book stores, and I'm usually ready to go before he is. I just find a comfortable seat somewhere and get out my reader.

I've only had a couple people ask me about it though. And aside from my husband and his PRS700, I've only seen one other person with an e-reader. That was when I was vacationing in Cabo. There was a lady reading on a Kindle poolside.

I carry mine everywhere and its not in a case. I just carry it in my hand. I really need to get one tho. Just not sure yet which one to go with.
I open mine up and read it everywhere possible. Its amazing how getting stopped by a train used to bother me. Not so much anymore.
I have yet to see anyone else reading with one. I just can't imagine not having it. I swear if it broke today I would be scraping up money from somewhere to run out and buy another one. Actually, last night I picked it up off the cabinet that I keep it on and as I was walking to my chair it slipped out of my hand. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! Well, it just kind of slid down my body and I caught it before it hit the ground. Made me realize even more that I need to get a case.

That's interesting. The only place I've ever been asked about my reader is at the doctors office as well. There was a lady there with a kindle 2 also. Both of us got quite a few questions from people on what the heck we were using.
