Sewing shops and Dollar Stores all carry sticky-back fabric that you can put on wooden coat hangers to keep clothes from slipping off. I use these for many different non-slip applications, such as my cell phone, mp3 player, etc. It would work well for your reader, and if you don't care for the feel of rubber, these make a good alternative.

Need these for the Kindle DX, that looks real slippery and since it's heavier, more potential for scratches.
