There are'nt many recent ebooks available in French.

Also since my wife absolutely refuses to use the prs, the titles we share must be in French and on paper. Make economical sense tyranny.

I buy pbooks more than ebooks, because the ebooks I have are mostly public domain. I still buy pbooks, even if available as ebooks, if I suspect they are ones I'd like to keep in my library/on my bookshelves permanently. If I particularly love a public domain ebook, I am likely to buy a nice version in pbook form. I enjoy bookstores, and book-buying: it is one of my few, calming pleasures. Oh, and also cookbooks and photography books (monographs)...they're either practically or aesthetically preferable to me in pbook form.

Cheers,
Marc

Since I got my PRS-700 in January, I've loaded it with so many books, that I'll have plenty to read for quite a while. I'm saving my money for buying eBooks and now an SD card to hold more! I still buy pbooks for my daughter and happily so, since I think I've finally got her hooked on reading. (I was beginning to think it would never happen.)

Since I've bought my reader a year ago I've only bought one book for myself about six months ago. For my children, I still buy eBooks and pBooks.

I um lied. I didn't mean to. I clicked on More than 2 years ago and afterward remembered that I did purchase The Absolute Sandman, Vols 1 - 4. I haven't opened them out of the plastic wrap even though I bought them months ago, I got them to collect, not read. I have my tattered much loved copies for reading so I forgot about the buy.

I used to buy so many pbooks it's almost unreal to think about it. I honestly hadn't really stopped to think about the fact that I had stopped. Even when I can't find the new books I want in ebook format I can almost always find them in audio. I used to spend thousands a year on HC first editions. And that change happened without me even realizing it. My mind is blown a little bit.

Just a week or two ago - "Child of Earth" by E.C. Tubb, the 33rd book in the Dumarest series. But it'll be a while before I read it - I want to get and read the other 32 first!

But I buy far fewer pbooks now than I used to do.

I still buy pbooks, I'm a little book addicted. And not everything is in ebook format, and I'm not going to wait, if I want to read, I will buy.

I only buy pbooks unless I have to. I do still check out books at the library often though, if that counts.

The majority of pbooks I have read recently have been gifts from others or have been borrowed from the library. The pbooks I do buy tend to be reference, cookbooks or for my son. Sometimes though, I'll be in Waterstones and see a new book by a favourite author and just can't resist!

Most of my ebooks so far have been free or borrowed from the ebook library.

I would rarely buy a paper novel or biography anymore, unless not available at a reasonable price in the right format of e-book. I don't usually read books over and over so when I'm done I can throw it away... that means DRM is not too big a deal for me with novels except that I can't share a DRM'd e-book after I'm done with it. So anything that is basically text-only and read from front to back is something that I try to get in e-book form.

But when it comes to technical reading and reference books that I want to flip through or navigate in a non-linear fashion, I still prefer paper. I buy a bunch of these.

So for novels I buy e-books or get PD/free stuff. For technical books, I still somewhat prefer paper, so I end up buying paper books all the time. Amazon gets lots of business from me.

Thank you for the link Of the three books, one is a public domain title - the mandatory read in secondary school, and the other two are checkers and chess manuals.

I didn't mean there are no Polish ebooks on the Net - many public domain titles are available. It's just that no one is selling any ebooks, so nothing that isn't in public domain isn't available legally. And, at least for me, there aren't any great reads in Polish public domain titles.

I still buy children's books in paper. My most recent purchase was when I was on the Ferry to visit Mother-in-law and realized I hadn't brought any books for Son's bedtime stories!

The Ferry gift shop had a small collection of 'Disney Little Golden Books' and I was able to pick up "Puss in Boots" and "Pinocchio." It turned out that we didn't need them as Mother-in-Law had a treasury of Disney short stories and Son wanted us to read those, but I don't like to assume there will be books available for Son. It's just too risky.

Bought one last week because it is not available as an ebook. Cut my finger on it... my Cybook would never do something like that to me
