I got the Cole Haan smooth leather cover (in black) at the same time as the K2. The leather feels very nice, but the more I think about a $100 case that uses a 5 cents worth of elastic to hold the Kindle in place, the more I regret the order. Earlier today I ordered the Deer II from Strangedog. Looks like a great cover.

I didn't order the Kindle with a cover, and I loved reading it in the tray it came in, propped up in a book rest. I figured I'd use the smaller Sony for my purse.

But then very shortly I wanted to keep reading something that was in the Kindle........

So I got an Amazon cover. Wonderfully simple, those hinges!! I love that.

What I like about my black Sony cover and black Amazon cover is that no one will ever steal them --- they look like incredibly boring address books in my purse.

Unlike many, I had no problems with the original K1 cover. My reason for buying an M-Edge to replace it was more practical - I wanted a built in light.

I'm too lazy to change pocketbooks and accessories to match each day so having more than one cover would not suit my lifestyle.

I have a Borsa Bella slim bag with the top zipper. I like reading without the weight of a cover.

Me too! I wanted the Sony just because of that cover. But I'm happy with the Kindle 1 and the Mighty Bright. I also have the Wedge but switched to the Mighty Bright, it's less hassle.

Otherwise I'm pretty happy with the standard-issue leather cover it came with.

K1 - original cover, then the M-edge prodigy; K2 - Amazon leather cover and silicone skin. KDX - amazon leather cover and I hope they will have the same silicone skin.

I ended up buying another cover and this one is my favorite. It's the Frog Print Cover by Bobarra.

Even though it uses elastic to hold the K2 in place, what I love is how easy the cover folds back and the smoothness/softness of the suede lining.

Plus I have a thing for frogs.
