As long as one is able to buy the device without the plan. I don't want to be forced into a contract just to get a device I like.
The subsidized plan may work for some but would most people utilize the cellular network enough to justify a monthly fee? |

Hmm. I think $25 a month is a bit high. $10 a month for 2 years, with a $50 initial drop for the device would be ... $290 all together, that's probably a bit low from their perspective, but I'm not sure I'd go much higher.
$100 down and $10 a month for 2 years might be interesting for others though ... if they were to drop the monthly price for the service after the first 2 years, I'd find the idea more interesting. |

Why would I want to pay for wifi access when I have that at home? I'm not paying a fee to wirelessly access eBooks. I have perfectly good wifi at home I can use that I don't have to pay any extra to use.

I don't want wireless access, especially when it's going to lead to higher prices for ebooks. I have 10 books on my reader I haven't read. I don't need more. I can wait until the next time I'm at my PC to buy and load more books.
The only advantage I can see to wireless is dictionary/wikipedia/encyclopedia access. I don't want to have to pay more for ebooks just to get access to these features. |

How is the CyBook dictionary better? Placing the cursor in front of a word and getting a brief definition is just about perfect for what I want. How is the CyBook better?

They only thing that I would say is better is that you can have multiple active dictionaries in the CyBook. BOb |

and there are enormously more dictionaries available - literally hundreds, both general-purpose, and specialist (eg all the "Oxford dictionary of <whatever>" series (art, architecture, music, etc etc).

Will CyBook permit you to place the cursor on a word and it look up a definition from multiple dictionaries automatically without manually opening them and searching? If so that would be better. In fact does CyBook automatically look up words from at least one installed dictionary like Kindle 2? If not that is a huge step backwards. I don't think Kindle's 1301 available dictionaries makes it better, more is not better, better is better. |
