I also use a microfiber cloth. If there are some smudges that are particularly difficult to remove I will sometimes wet the microfiber then clean the screen. If wetting the microfiber always dry the screen so you don't leave streaks.

Can you clean it like your flat panel or do you need some sort of special cleaner?
I love mine too! I switched to the 505 at Christmas and have really enjoyed it. Especially when I used PRSCustomizer to change the default fonts to large eye-friendly letters and add a clock to the tiny little status bar. Search for the thread called "Very detailed instructions on how to change default fonts..."

Next time you are at Walmart, stop by their optical shop. They sell a big spray bottle of lens cleaner and packets of the microfiber cloths. It's all about $4. OH! And be sure to spray the cloth, not the screen, so that liquid doesn't accidentally get inside. (PilotBob gave me that warning.)

Smile Thanks!

I took everyone's advice about the microfibre cloth. I never thought of getting one at an optical store but I did find a large cloth (plan to use it for my Reader and my Flat Panel Monitor) and cleanser at a camera store. They did tell me to spray the cloth not the screen and to use the cleanser very sparingly. Only use part of the cloth to clean with and the other to dry with. Does that sound about right?

Yes, but I would try and clean it without any liquid at all first. I have yet to need to use any liquid.

Microfiber cloths are awesome, if you get the industrial kind you can clean glass with a lot less windex (same concept, you can clean without spray).

And when they're too grubby, lob 'em in the washing machine and they come out good as new

Can't do that with paper towels

When I move (live with parents now), I'm getting a stack of those and cloth napkins. Greener and cheaper baby
