That's how I know him. I didn't know he was in Jeeves and Wooster though (I've been wanting to watch those, big fan of Hugh Laurie)

I tried watching Jeeves and Wooster. I usually can relate somewhat to British comedies, even the more subdued ones, but in this case I think something gets lost in translation.

I'm sure many people have seen him in Blackadder, too. That still airs on our public television stations.

Yeah, I couldn't get into that one either. I do love Fry and Laurie though.

Actually I recognize him from Bones and He played Dylan Thomas. I just tend to get annoyed at celebrity fawning.

~ahem~ Many Aussies, who get and "get" a lot of UK television, would possibly disagree.

We like him because he is us?

Note, he is also an author of novels, screenplays, articles, essays, autobiography/memoir, plays, and, of course, television scripts. I would rate him as one of the premier humourists of our time.

Cheers,
Marc

He was also great as Dietrich in V for Vendetta, as Mybug in Cold Comfort Farm, and as Oscar Wilde in Wilde.

Er, no. That's me, plugging MobileRead. Stephen Fry news is featured on my site because he's been filming a TV series update to Last Chance To See.
