Problems with Google Book Search on Sony Connect - Page 2

What happened when you tried to transfer it to the Reader? I've transferred over 20 of the Google books to mine via the Sony eLibrary software -- no problems so far (knock wood).

The books are ePub, which cannot be read on the 500. It says this on the website:

http://ebookstore.sony.com/google-eb...Promo_Google_1

(in the gray box on the left, it was also in the email)

I'm pretty new to whole digital book concept so I though maybe it was just me.

I live in Canada and when I tried searching the Google Books the same thing happened to me. I kept getting zero results for quite a few of the featured authors but I wasn't sure why. Eventually I clued in that pretty much the same thing was available here and I downloaded what I was looking for from MR.

I don't have any problems when I'm searching for books other than the Google books. I have come across a few books that show 'US only'. Other than that no problems.

I am amazed more people have not commented on this. When I do a search for this issue, the first hit is to this post. Nothing on the Sony site or on Google. I know these books are easily available at other locations, but isn't this a big deal, the fact that Google is restricting access to public domain material, while Sony is boasting how larger their catalogue has just become, but neglecting to mention US only? Or how their FAQ says nothing about this? Has nobody in Canada or the UK phoned Sony to ask them what is going on?
