The corner is a couple hundred yards I'd reckon... I was actually more concerned about the fumes then I was the actual electricity... Dang! You just made me think I should have grabbed my mp3 player, Floyd would have gone great with that!

Final update, they rewired the stretch and cleared out everything and reopened the roads at some point this afternoon, I wasn't really watching that close...

...umm, I'm most apologetic. m-to-the-h is blameless, regardless of an understandable attempt to take credit.

See, I've been trying these new zorange-coloured pills washed down with twelvety ZCD jelly-shots and a Stoli-quart chaser, with my hindbrain's Firewire port jacked into the router and, with an extension cord, my coccyx-socket power-shunted into the pole-transformer out the front of the house (I had to bypass the house's safety-switch). Ideally, it was meant to alleviate some of the nightmares by causing a continually refreshing neuron-cascade, with any overflow uploaded to a redundant and useless wash-zone on the web that was used to taking the occasional surge of craptastic traffic (i.e. The Will Ferrell Fan Club web-page), and causing only minor collateral damage to the expendable sub-lifeforms that might be drooling there in a feebly quivering puddle of their own humourless but comparatively more intelligent waste.

Hmm, well, it seems there has been a slight...malfunction. Adrian assured me that all went well, but then Adrian initially assured me that ZCDs were slightly less incapacitating than diet lemonade, and, admittedly, he was capering and cackling wildly this morning, with sparks shooting from the ends of his every hair (and he's got a lot of them, since, unlike me, he doesn't shave).

Now, I don't want to cause any alarm, but, and this might have perhaps been intentional as it relates to the aforementioned website, the experiment was intended to make said nightmares somewhat corporeal (at the very least we'd have a few dead Will Ferrell fans, and corporeality naturally leads to that famous movie-quote truism, "If it bleeds, we can kill it" - win/win as they say). So, Em-Jay...how do you feel about "with severe prejudice" weaponry, cause you're probably gonna need it? I can ship you some from the Montsnmags Armoury if you desire. I can ensure it's tailored for the particular...idiosyncrasies of all my nightmares' spellunks(*).

The crotch-scorpions are particularly nasty...and particularly quick.

To be honest, they're all zorange inside - Montsnmags Pharmaceuticals just coats them in different colours to match our designers' new packaging ideas, and to go with the eyes of whichever B-list celebrity marketing has told us we're using to sell the drug's efficacy against...whatever we've labelled it as being effective against. In our scheme of importance "Efficacy of product" is down at about item seventeen, just below "16. Will it get the company executive invited to all the best parties?", and just above "18. Drug trials".

So this was arcing for a good half hour. It was another 45 minutes before the wire cooled completedly, which makes little sense to me. With everything out I could watch this orange serpent crack and hiss in amazement. Power didn't come back on til 7:10am, and the road is still blocked off. From the duration I have to wonder if the road surface itself didn't get damaged from the heat.

I spent the morning in candlelight realizing that I need something better to read by... I didn't hear any cars hit a pole or anything so not sure what brought down the line... I guess this round goes to you mtravellerh...
