Download Calibre for Mac. When you plug the device in, the ebook library manager recognizes it, and you can directly transfer your books from within Calibre. Calibre will also convert books from many formats to .mobi. If you primarily download from feedbooks.com, just download them in that format. If you intend to read them also on your iPhone, convert also to ePub. Calibre is available from http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/.

I already use Calibre and it is an awesome program since I am on a Mac. The problem was that the Mac would not recognize the Kindle... it had nothing to do with Calibre

No kidding. My K1 always took about 5-10 seconds to mount on my Mac, and about 10-15 seconds to unmount. The K2 does both of those things in 1-2 seconds. Nice.
