The screen shot says we can buy a Book from put MAC, PC, or iPhone.So can we buy Kindle eBooks using our computer and then transfer to the app? If so, all we need is a way to grab the PID and we can bust the DRM wide open.

It's neat. But screen size is small and strains the eyes.. Does anyone have similar issues with actual Kindles?

Yes, the sync works with all Kindle versions and with wireless (I don't have a cell plan on my iPhone). You can also run the app on your iPod Touch.

I would like it if it recognized it in landscape mode. It is kind of cool to see the covers in color . I could only read a few pages using this though.

Just to be a little more specific, Whispersync went into firmware version 1.2 that was released recently. Most K1's should have it by now, but if it doesn't work for you, check your firmware version and upgrade.

Unfortunately, at least so far, it appears you can't download books to your computer if you only have an iPhone on your Amazon account. Not sure if this is a feature or a bug , but I was hoping I could use this to read on both my Sony Reader and the Kindle IPhone app. At this point, that doesn't look possible.

Can someone with a jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch. try kindlepid.py using the device's serial number and then mobidedrm.py 0.04 or 0.05 with that PID?

I don't want to be silly here but I just downloaded the iPhone Kindle ap and it's amazing.

It caught the book I'm currently reading and synchronized it without a problem. Easy as pi. I don't always leave the whispernet on on my Kindle but at least there are a buncha books I haven't read yet that I can download and read on the iPhone as well. So far, I'm happy.

Yes, the iPhone will use Wifi for all data when it is connected to a WiFi hotspot.

My iPhone isn't jailbroken, but I was able to get Ur purchased from the Amazon Kindle store on my PRS-505. I posted about it here:

no. in fact, because i've only had my kindle 2 since monday, and it's my first, i would describe the screen as almost eerily static. it is actually *relaxing* to look at.

but if i'm about to unexpectedly end up 'counting tiles', i'll be glad to have my book available on my ipod touch.

..but it will work with the $0.00 amazon purchases. i downloaded 'middlemarch', and that's on my ipod touch now, as well as my kindle.
