It depends. If you just said something like:

It would not. Of course, if you say this used to be Mrs. Obama's reaer.. then yes, THAT would be fraud.

ETA: I wonder if all readers can be engraved or if some will suffer more damage.
Had my wife's Reader engraved and something went wrong when I flashed the bios a while back. Ended up sending it back to Sony and they sent back a Reader that wasn't engraved any longer.

I had mine engraved (from Sony) with my favorite motto: Never give up, never surrender!

It's in tiny type on the front, but it always makes me smile.
