You need to check with RickyM - she's an expert on this "problem" ...

Thspud spends most of his "creative time" opening cupboards on the off chance that that's where we have hidden the nip, this time.

creative time?

Mine don't even know the word... They're both crazy as bats, but we've finally reached the stage where we may actually scratch the newest under his chin without being scratched ourselves...

those people that take cats to kick them out of the house so they can go on holiday should be shot... I've never seen a cat that was so afraid of being petted... I only need to lift my finger and he'll crawl into himself...

I cannot count the number of cats my wife and I have taken in and cared for and found homes for. All of these cats had been abused in many different ways. The worst case was a poor cat that had been nailed to the side of a house. The people that did it were unknown. He stayed with us for rest of his life but was always terrified of other people. He was a beautiful cat and liked nothing better than to have a lap.

I don't no what I would have done if I had known who was responsible.

Same here, I've been rescuing horribly abused cats for years now. Several of my cats have been rescued from abuse so intense, that I know I could not be trusted knowing who did it .... I would be too tempted to give them the same treatment ....

I do not understand people who do that ... and I don't WANT to understand people like that.

I just bought a bunch of those incontinence pads. Stick them in my pants and just pee away.

Otherwise, I might actually have to disturb one of my children's naps.

Can't have that ....

The 4 year old cat has a new trick of getting onto the window sill behind the blind of the bedroom window above the bed. Then jumping down next to me when I have no idea she's there. Gave me a real shock the first time she did it.
Back when I had a staircase in my bedroom, one of my three-legged cats (Cameron), used to climb to the very top of the stairs, and then leap out from there ... almost like a swan dive .... to land on my bed.

She was (and still is) perfectly capable of just jumping up onto the bed from the floor. But, nooooooo .... she had to make that 10 foot leap every night after I would turn out the lights.

So, the lights would go out, and I'd lie there in bed for about a minute, then there would be this THUMP as she hit the bed, and then she'd come snuggle up with me.

Oddly, even though there is an 8 foot high cat platform next to my bed now, she doesn't leap from the top of that to the bed (which is why I built the thing as I did .... so she could continue doing her dives). I guess it's just not as good as the staircase.

That did not work with our kitty; only hiding it worked. And then of course there is the kleenex box, that was hours of fun when we would be at work. And then there was the turning on of the water faucet in the kitchen and we cannot forget the turning on of the oven. The two cats tried to flood the house and then tried to burn down the house. After that this house was completely cat proofed.

This is why I'm glad that I have budgerigars. The worst they can do is nibble on things and knock small things off of shelves.
