KindlePID and KindleFIX on Kindle 2 - Page 2

The problem is, when downloading a book from BoB (and maybe the library), multiple Kindle PID's could be a problem. A separate account may have to be set up for each.

I really could use someone else with K1 and K2 to help test this stuff out.

Edit: I should have said "someone with multiple Kindles on their account to help test this stuff out".

Initially, I registered with the Boston Public Library using the wrong PID. I couldn't find a way to delete the bad PID, so I simply added a second one to the account. I've had no problems running kindlefix and reading mobipocket documents from the Library.

I now have the SN for my 2nd K2. I ran it through KindlePID and it generated a PID that starts with a letter (just like my K1). So a PID can start with a letter or number.

I just ran my K2 S/N through kindlepid. Worked like a charm (mine starts with a letter) and I was able to use that PID with mobidedrm on a Kindle book without a hitch.

My PID for kindle 2 starts with a number. Registered it with the library . And just for FYI the library still has my other kindle's pid. Downloaded a book with no problem! So glad since I didn't want to loose that ability if possible :-)
