FYI: Working on iliad-be

Hi,

I've been trying to get this to work on my iliad-be for sometime now. Finally figured out the secret.

I tried these with the cf card binary posted by istudy at the first post.

My CF card is mounted as /media/cf and the prg was placed in /media/cf/apps/fbreader-0.10.2.

The program's $INSTALLDIR is set to /media/card/fbreader.
(makefiles/arch/desktop.mk).

So, moved the /media/cf/apps/fbreader-0.10.2/fbreader to /media/cf/fbreader and created a symlink: /media/card-->/media/cf.

After this have been able to run this from the content lister.
I already have 0.8.14 or so version installed. Perhaps because of this or because the package is not installed, my font was really big.
Also, figuring out the meanings of the buttons is an involving task.

Thanks for the package..

Thanks
hari

Hello there
I am new here. I just got my iLiad, and trying to use FBreader (starting from verion 8 standalone and installer as well as current version (10.2) standalone. Both programs running fine, thank you all guys for this nice software, however I can not find the way to display central Europe characters ( I am Polish) in *.rtf , *.txt ro html files. No matter which encoding set I use I still have missing some typical polish letters (ć, ł, ż ). I tried to put manually "windows-1250" character set into zlibrary/encodings directory and still no luck. Letter just does not appear. I have to mention, that *.epub books that I have created myself displays just fine. Original mobireader software can only display properly pdf and mobi books. In *.txt and html files I have exactly same problem. Could it be connected to some missing localised fonts in iliad's system, or wrong config ?
Any Help will be appreciated.

Hi,
Glad to see somebody running fbreader well on his iliad, for the central Europe characters, if it can be display by epub format books, it should display for rtf/txt/html format books, just try encoding set after load the book is not sufficient, pls choose the fonts in the option menu to check whether it can display well, for me, always reading some chinese/english book, the encoding set just detect fine by fbreader, but the fonts should be select by manuallly, or you will missing some character.

Hope it will help you.

Thank for your answer.
Unfortunately it is not.
I've checked files formatted as follows in FBReader:
rtf-> UTF-8 = not working
rtf->windows latin 2 = not working
rtf-> iso latin 2 = not working
txt -> UTF-8 => not working
txt -> windows latin 2 => it displays correct fonts, but poor formatting
txt -> iso latin 2 => not working
None of above txt files works with proper character witch original irex software.
I've just read that there is 2.12.1 european software maybe it will works with that. I have currently 2.12 with language set 002 but no idea where to get 2.12.1

Pls choose the UTF-8 as the character encoding set when you create the txt/rtf/html format file, I just try to save your post in UTF-8 and upload to iliad vm, and use fbreader to open it, the three character just display fine.
Or you can post the file link, I will try to open it with my iliad to check it wheter correct or not.
