You see, this is why I don't subscribe to Marc's LiveCam. Hacking into it just makes so much more sense.

And exactly how am I responsible for CBell going to the meet-up?

I see Marc has added a touch of Qld class to our proposed meetup already, in his own unique way. I had to scroll past that photo 4 times as I read my way through this thread. Eww. Yuk. (My sincere apologies to all Qld'ers who are not Marc, as I'm sure you're all nothing like him.)

pshrynk, when you had your fantastic prancing multi-coloured llama avatar, you enticed me to visit the Lounge - which I'd always avoided as I knew it would take too much of my time... and it does. So here I am, trying to organise a meetup

Oy! I'll have you know I'm a Novacastrian by birth, an east-coaster by family travels (ie. a RAAF brat), a Sydneysider by personal history, and only a Queenslander by choice and only for the last 17 months. Don't you slander those poor Queenslanders on the basis of my actions.

Good thing too. Otherwise how would I be able to tell the difference between myself and all of the ex-Victorians?

He's a pshrynk, so I'm sure he'd only ever do stuff that's good for your mental stability. Look at me and the rest of the Ministry! We're proofing in living colour (backed up by my legal team, all in non-living shades)

So, in your quest to maintain a sense of seriousness, and avoid the more interesting and chronophageous aspects of the lounge, how does it feel to realise that epiphany is the sensible one?

Oh, and I won't be there, obviously (I mention in case all of the above is dissuading others...mind you, I've heard that cbell is as crazy as an outhouse rat after a coupla ristretto shots).

Cheers,
Marc

It's possible that I may be able to make this one but I won't know for sure for a couple of months. That would be fun - assuming my brain will function after being turned upside down and cast forward into tomorrow land.

montsnmags, huh? what? love? duh? I wonder what Newcastle thought when you left.

I think epiphany is very sensible.

vivaldirules, you'd be very welcome! Hope you can make it. If you let us know when you'll be here, I hope we can arrange a time/date that suits your schedule.

I was going to reply earlier but when I saw Marc's lolbaboon I lost my train of thought.

The CBD is probably most convenient for everyone and any venue that serves hot chocolates is fine with me!

Thank you. I'm currently planning to be there in mid-June but that could easily change by months at the drop of a hat. So please don't make your plans around me.

See marc? Is that possible?? I thought that could only happen in a ZCD-induced hallucination. Nah, I thought I'd go see Adrian. He's asked me to spend some quality time with him.

oh thank GOD, he's been bugging me about that too but the idea of that flight just makes me want to crawl into a hole. maybe now he'll calm down a bit. y'all have fun together. don't drink too many zcds (she says, snickering as she knows that there is no point in saying that at all).

Well, if VR's going to Melbourne, he's about as far from me as Stockholm is from Paris, or Milwaukee from Houston. Even if I had a licence, I'm not driving that far, even in a flying car. Adrian, however, does not seem to be bound by little things like dimensional separation. I think he just uses brute-strength to fold the relevant physical entities into origami-space, and then does a simple swing from his origin to his destination.

I once saw myself in a hallucination. It wasn't pretty. That's why I wear the mask. Adrian is looking forward to it (the meetup; not me without the mask).

Cheers,
Marc

epiphany

There's a cafe that specialises in hot chocolate (and all other chocolate) at the top end of Collins St. I'll see if they have a website. I'm trying to remember their name - they have booths and couches - and they have an area where we can watch them making homemade chocs, too.

They don't have a good website, but I think its Koko Black Chocolate, 52 Collins St Melbourne.

cbell,

I'd love to go to Melbourne again assuming my empty accout has time to fill up. I'd be prepared to take the sleeper XPT down overnight, spend the day in Melbourne and get the XPT back the same night if I haven't saved enough for hotels and a longer stay. I have theatre tickets for 6th June (subscription) but could possibly change them.

OK, I think we're looking at mid-late June.

Laine and I have already practiced for our meetup - sitting on the couch with our cappuchinos, chatting and comparing ebook readers.

Laine, it would be great if you could make it to the meetup, too! I reckon if you can endure the 11 and 1/2 hour train trip each way and AlexBell can think of flying/sailing from Tas, maybe we can entice some other interstaters to attend.

Melbourne is braced and implementing our fire plans, as its another extreme fire danger day tomorrow. Good luck, Victoria!
