I think you are testing the txt format file which must be save as unicode format.

What are the odds of this ever happening though? They never released such a thing for the 500/505.

I'm not sure that's the "best idea" but you could say it's the "safest idea". It's not "best" because we do not know (unless you have information that I don't have) that Sony will be putting out new firmware for the PRS-700.

By the way--I'm wondering why Sony would EVER call their produces ridiculous names like PRS-700. How about calling it something like Sony Reader II? Haven't they by now realise that they can have nicer names?

The Sony PRS-700 is actually no. 4 I think.
Librie, 500, 505, 700.
I think PRS may stand for Sony Portable Reader or Personal Reading System? Not sure - but something like that... It makes sense to me.
Nicer than Kindle 1 or Hanlin v3 or v9..

How about PSP? Does that sound strange?
