You can get Kindle for the PC then download Kindle books for the PC. Would that help you?

Welcome to MobileRead tpculp! This is an old thread from Feb. 2009 before there was a Kindle for PC. Hopefully the original poster was able to get the K4PC software when it was announced.

Legally... probably not.

Technically, it is possible if you crack the DRM and then convert the mobi format to ePub.

You can buy books using Kindle for PC if you use Windows.

What OS is your HTC phone? They have android for Kindle coming soon, don't know about Windows Mobile.

Kindle for Android is Released

Kindle 4 Android is released. I already bought 2 books without owning a Kindle
(normal paperback price $13,49 but kindle edition only $0,99 that is an extreme bargain I could not resist )
