I think a great deal of experimentation is called for on my part. I'll let you all know how I progress.

Thanks and regards

Ah, but if you take mine into account (filtered HTML) the 2nd one drops out
This is an example filtered output of a paragraph, stored by Word 2007, not to bad IMO
Code:
<p><span lang=HR>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec in ligula. Quisque ac erat id arcu condimentum rhoncus. In lacus. </span></p>
Whereas an unfiltered would look like:
Code:
<p class=MsoPlainText><span lang=HR style='font-family:"Courier New";
mso-ansi-language:HR'>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec in ligula. Quisque ac erat id arcu condimentum rhoncus. In lacus.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
A lot less nice indeed!

Well, hello. Fancy meeting you here!
To explain to others, we've both been long-term enthusiasts of the cataloging and collection software produced here
I started by asking for some help at the BookCAT book collection forum and MSWallack sent me in this direction. I've never previously cataloged my books - I've spent all my time on CDs and other albums. Although the CAT family of software is not free I can recommend it completely: it's extremely functional, very flexible, well-designed and has the most responsive author you can hope for. All in all a pleasure to use.

Anyway this wasn't intended to be an advertisement. Back to the conversion process ...
