I don't even notice the story lines cos the lighting is so bad, they really overuse the dramatic half lit face. I find I tune out after the first 15 minutes and if I grumble my daughter's response is "mum they do it for dramatic effect" yea well it is dramatic, but not if every office shot of a character uses it (( end of whinge.

But I have enjoyed the alphabet series and I have been told that the whole series may be available on the dark net, but never gone looking for it.

I know its hokey, but the storylines are grabbers.

yes they are, been watching law and order for the last 10 year atleast (since i was 10!) ive seen over 300 episodes of it, every episode of SVU and CI, and TBJ, and most of the origional series. (300 might be low. im just guessing, but SVU and CI combined is over 300 already.. plus 10 seasons atleast of the 17 of TOS, so maybe over 500 episodes of law and order)

I must watch an episode atleast once a week, or else i might think i cant get caught if i kill whoever it is im angry at that week

I have not read any of Sue Grafton books but I got my cousin to buy a Sony ... she bought the new 300 (the pocket size one) and I found A - R at deleted. They unzip as LIT files, then I converted them for her. She is a happy camper. I could only find T as a HTML. Now I guess I better find S for her.

I edited your post to remove the link. We appreciate the attempt to be helpful, but those books are very much in copyright violation. That's against MR policy. Among other things, MobileRead is fairly high profile, read by folks in the industry, and we have to lead by example.

Thanks for your understanding.

I've scanned and formatted A, B and C from english paperbacks.
If you find a legal way to do it, I'll be happy to send them to you.

Don't do it!

Seriously. I enjoy Kinsey as a bit of fluff and entertainment, but when S came out, I re-read the whole series in order beforehand. Never again. Several months of reading the same character is just dull. And kinsey doens't change. There is no character development. Incidents happen. And sometimes get recalled in later books, but that's all.

They are a little variable, some better than others. P was the worst I think, but O is pretty good.

I think they are excellent, especially the earlier ones. When GRafton gets up to about P she seems to run out of steam for her stories and characters. But they are all a good read.

I used to have a membership with the Mystery Guild, just to collect these books and a couple of other series. I quit when they started piling up unread.

I was hoping to start up collecting them again with my Reader, but I found they didn't start until "P". I happen to have all of the books up to "O", so I'm good, even if "P is for Peril" costs twice as much as the other later editions.

(For some reason the Sony store had "Q is for Quarry" on sale, so I bought it. )

I haven't read them in a long time so I started at the beginning a few months ago and found that I don't really care for J - M.

I'm reading N for the first time and I'm not that excited about it either. I've read good reviews for "O is for Outlaw", so I'm looking forward to getting to that one!

I haven't read Sue Grafton's books yet, but if you like female detective stories you should check out Laura Lippman's Tess Monaghan series. They are generally set in and around Baltimore, MD. I've read them all and really enjoyed them. Laura Lippman is a former Baltimore newspaper reporter who became a novelist. She also writes stand alone books that are very good. I live about an 1 1/2 hours out of Baltimore so it's cool to have familiar places referenced but anyone could enjoy these books. Tess's character does change and grow thoughout the series and I enjoyed the later books more than some of the earlier ones. The first is Baltimore Blues. Some of the books are available in e-book form but you should be able to get p-books at any library.

I read the first book but did not like that so much. Maybe I should read some later books if they are better. I like Sue Grafton's books a lot but you probably should not read all of them in a row. The best female detective books I think are Sara Paretsky's Warshawski books.

The Warshawski books are good. I also like Marcia Muller's Sharon McCone books.
