On the screenshot above it is always the same book. Between those syncs I deleted the kepub-file and tried with an EPUB-file and played a little bit with koreader.

Hi Docuro, the file has to be identical, if you used Calibre+Kobo+USB you need to set up Calibre properly, because if not, Calibre converts the epub on the fly and as a result the epub file inside Kobo does not match epub file inside Calibre or justread.
There is a section about it in Help under Put the same book on both devices: (2). And also, in justread and KOReader you need to enable the same: Match books by File Content and I have autosync enabled in both. |

Ok. I Read the very imformative help-section and tried it with some books (deleted, re-converted to epub and again put it on Kobo), but it didn‘t work either. But I noticed, that the changed epub-files in calibre after syncing to justread.app creates a new file on the sync-Server from justread, either. So for me the koreader-sync is not a workable thing. But as mentioned above it doesn‘t really matter for me. WHEN I use my Kobo then I should be able to recognize my reading progress :-)
But thanks for the really good help section in the App! It was the first time I saw it today. |

Hello Docuro, in the meantime I tried it multiple times and did not find any problems.
But this part got me thinking: But I noticed, that the changed epub-files in calibre after syncing to justread.app creates a new file on the sync-Server from justread, either So it has to be a mismatch between files. I will update the Help Section, maybe with Calibre and KOReader screenshots, because this feature is the most power-user feature there is in the app, because to make it all work things has to be done properly on three sides: justread, calibre and kobo. Also I am testing Grimmory and it is much better (read: easier) with it. |

I really think the problem is me :-)) because I do not know much about those stuff like servers etc. But I like to solve puzzles and so I am looking forward to the new help section when it is done.

Will look into it tomorrow (the help section) because after Kobo update Nickelmenu show 'generator error', so I will have to deal with this first, to make KOReader work on Kobo back again.

So after two KOREADER reinstalls... looks like I am not that power user I thought I was :-) ... I created a walkthrough.
And please check that calibre settings, that is where I think may be a problem (even that metadata change is changing the file). 1. Book sent to justread using Calibre sync in justread 2. Book sent to Kobo from Calibre using Send to device (with settings in the image) Because it is not possible to add the image (maybe too big), I uploaded it there https://postimg.cc/BLYxxQmG Can you please try it and maybe tell me back, where you have it set up differently? I tried a little bit with Kobo, Calibre, Justread and changed the settings like you did. But still there are different files on the Sync Server. I think it depends on a personal setting in calibre, that the series is implemented in the file name. I do save my metadata Like this: {series} {series_index:0>3s} - {title}. And this „title“ is shown in justread too. I tried to export this format to Kobo, but it failed.
But for me it is ok. I like my files like they are and the sync with Kobo would be a nice Feature, but other things are much more important for me. So do not spend more brainpower in this, ok?

OK, but in the meantime I updated the Help in the app... added screenshots of the setup.
