The solution is to use calibre with the ACSM Input plugin. That way you will still be able to download your DRM infected ePub/PDF. If you have DeDRM, you can disinfect your ePub/PDF with just adding the ACSM file to your calibre library. The advantage to this is that you don't have an extra copy sitting in your ADE library, the ACSM file is automatically deleted upon successful download to calibre and the DRM is removed.

I use this setup and it works very well.

I doubt it will change. If it does, there will be a lot of people who will no longer be able to read DRM infected ePub/PDF. There are a lot devices out there that have some version RMSDK that will never be updated. If the DRM is changed, it will be a big deal.

Remember the huge backlash when Adobe updated the DRM?
