Cybook Version 1.2 Build 820 - Page 2

Anyone got the skinny on 1.2-834? I just got a new Cybook and it has this version of firmware on it.

It's been shipping for a while. The only new functionality anyone's found in it is that PDFs will use user-loaded fonts to supply the fonts they need.

I think you are thinking of 820. I have not seen 834 mentioned before.

820 also seams to make page faster it seams to me. (the demo at the salon du livre runed it). The reader acctualy felt like acting werid to me.

As far as Cybook, is concerned, it's a small company, not many resources, slow dev.

I took the oportunies i had to have the bookeen peaple in front of me to ask a few questions about this :

I learned the update is comming next week (if everything goes well, i would add, and it rarelly does when dev is involved)
Additions involes pdf and Epub support (with drm) and folders (at last)

Might that not simply be down to the fact that newer Gen3's appear to have a 400MHz rather than a 200MHz CPU?

Don't know. My Cybook is not very old. (ok, older than i though, october 2008).
It's hard to tell anyway, unless you have the two reders in front of you at the same time, with the same book.

How do you check whether you have a 200MHz or 400MHz Processor? The official bokeen website says it is 200MHz...

Firmware 820 and above shows the CPU type and speed on the "About" screen. It's not shown with firmware 796 and below.

Probably.

In the old days only two things in life were certain: Death and Taxes. Today that has been improved by 50%. Now you can add software delays to the list.

too bad, bought a Cybook for my Girlfriend in mid Jannuary - she just checked and it is a 200MHz unit

Well, since we had no complaints before, it wouldn't make sense to start crying now...
