But that's not really a good solution. The solution is to find out what the problem is. I convert ePub to KF8 and I have no problem doing so. with calibre 9.5 or 9.5.101.

When you check your ePub with the calibre error checker and epubcheck, are any errors fixed so there are no longer any errors reported?

One other thing to do is in the editor, go to Tools > Remove unused… and select Remove unused CSS rules. That way any unused CSS will be removed in case it's causing a problem. Then convert to KF8 (AZW3).

If you still have a problem, use the ScrambleEbook plugin to scramble the ePub. Then take the scrambled ePub, put it in calibre, convert to KF8, put it on your Kindle and see if it works. If it's not working, attach the scrambled ePub to this thread so we can have a look at it.

Another thing to try is download the eBook from https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=177182 and convert to KF8 and upload to your Kindle and see if it works. I know it should work because the code is not complicated at all.

I believe Max just wants it to work, not a perfect convert.
Mobi uses a simpler (predecessor) of the modern HTML used in EPUB.

Cleaning a CSS is just what some of us do because we do not like e-clutter The book should work the same either way.

But the question is, is he having a problem with calibre or is it the eBooks he's trying to convert? I know the one I recommended to try will work when converted to KF8.

The question becomes, what about his eBooks is causing KF8 to fail? If it's an issue with calibre, then that needs to be fixed. If it's the eBooks, then they need to be fixed.
