Apologies for ongoing saga here. I've just re-converted original library, fixed the aspect ratio issue, and now trying to put things onto the Kobo.

Using the above steps already in this thread, I am thankfully getting the books to look right in the Kobo itself - but the Device library in Calibre won't also do the same. It is not mirrored to the Library. I've tried clicking on the 'Date' column just to see if there was something glaringly obvious I've missed here, but it won't show the books in the correct order.

Any idea why? It was working great earlier when I posted success! Thanks.

In My Books, set Filter to All and Sort to Recent. If you find that doesn't work, try setting Sort to Date Added.

Sorry, I should have been more explicit. The issue is no longer with the Kobo, the Kobo is now showing books as they appear in my Calibre library.

What isn't working is that 'Device' on Calibre isn't showing the correct order of the books. It doesn't match the 'Library' also within Calibre.

Why would you want the Device view to display books in the same order? It’s something that only shows up when you plug your device in. I only use that view to check for library mismatches, so I’ll order it by whether it’s in the library or not; I wouldn’t expect to see the books in that view in the same order as my library/kobo.

I’m not sure it’s possible to order the books in that view as you’d like it - you could raise it as a request over on the Calibre forum, I suppose.

It always worked like that for Kindle, the Device mirroring the Library. Made it much easier to scan between them to look for missing books, etc.

There’s a column that gets added to the library that shows if a book is on the device, and correspondingly there’s a column that shows if a book on the device is in the library.

I’ve always used those two columns to sort each view to check which books are missing from the device and/or library. Much easier than doing a manual scan (unless, I suppose, you only have a small number of ebooks!)
