Sorry about that. Pretty much none of the extra python modules were present as the "pip install -r requirements.txt" command failed during the download phase of one of the modules. So the install phase never happened. I'll look for a way to ensure that such an error cause the whole action run to fail.

You last build log (RC2) looks fine, to be clear.

Okay, we think we know the issue and it was on our end, so we have rebuilt the AppImage (hopefully with all its parts now!).

Please grab the new file Sigil-2.7.5-RC2-x86_64.AppImage from my personal github Repo.

Hopefully this one works!

  • Open epub
  • Open an html page in Code View and see it reflected in Preview window
  • Open css stylesheet in external editor (in my case, BBEdit)
  • Make edits to stylesheet using external editor
  • Save (but do not close) stylesheet in external editor
In previous Sigil versions, including 2.7.0, the Preview window would automatically update to reflect the changes made to the stylesheet every time I save it in the external editor.

In 2.7.5 RC, the open Preview window does not automatically update. Instead, I have to click the Update Preview Window button. Alternatively, I can open a different html page and it will accurately reflect the stylesheet, then go back to the previously open html page.

Please let me know if there is further information I can provide, and if this is just me and I'm doing something weird.

Thank you
Okay, I think I have this fixed in master. To test, I opened the Alice epub and navigated to an xhtml file to show things in Preview.

Next I used "Open With" to open the styles.css file with BBEdit. In BBEdit I changed the css to start with "body { background: red;} " then did a File Save in BBEdit which writes the changes to the file.

Sigil detected this external change on Disk and told Preview to force clear the cache so that the upcoming update to Preview will start fresh.

The nice red background appeared almost immediately in Preview with no need to hit the Reload button.

So we should be back to normal for external editing.

Thank you for your bug report!

This must be a Windows specific change of some sort in Qt 6.10.2

With Mac OS you see the following in the About box.

The green button is a built in Mac feature to auto tile your windows for you.

Okay, I have been playing around with a simple shrinkable Qt window that should work in a crossplatform manner without having the need to strip off the native window titlebar and create our own. Native titlebars are too useful to remove and might break third party extensions/tools.

Check out the images shrinkable_window.png and shrunk_window.png.

The python3 code to play with it, "testit.py", is also attached so if you have PySide6 in your python3 interpreter you should be able to play with it.

Perhaps we could add this for the Spellcheck Editor dialog and the Reports Dialog and not allow them to minimize?

Thoughts?
