If it will not work on your Scribe, it will not work on any Kindle. Dictionary format has not changed since the very first one.

Then I am at a loss at what to do.

I was able to find a working .mobi of the Webster 1913 and then run it through KindleUnpack and review the .opf and .html
While I can mimic the .opf to fit for a new dictionary for the Webster 1828, I am not sure how to mimic the .html formatting of the content.

I have this .txt file of the dictionary, but am not sure how to process it to be a proper tab delimited text in order to generate a working dictionary.
Attachment is a zipped .txt file.

After reviewing that text document closer, it's not a complete Webster 1828 dictionary.
I am going to try and unpack a complete .mobi dictionary that isn't working as a lookup dictionary and see if I can convert it to the same format of the working webster 1913 dictionary and check and see if that will work.
